Casino had to apologize
I disagree with letter-writer Hugh Shirreff that the Parq casino should not have apologized to Drake on behalf of its employees.
While Drake should not have taken to social media to express his grievances with the casino, one has to look at the issue from the perspective of the casino’s public-relations team. Even if the employees did nothing wrong, the damage was done the moment Drake posted his review of the casino to his 50-million Instagram followers. I think an apology was an appropriate response.
Racial profiling is an issue any company would not want to be associated with. If the casino had not issued an apology, it would have led to even more negative media attention. Miya Fast, Abbotsford
