Trip to Vegas shows why B.C. needs ride-hailing services

The Province - - EDITORIAL -

We just got back from Las Vegas, where we took a cab from the airport to the hotel for $46, about a 15-minute ride. The cab from the hotel to the airport at the end of the trip 11 days later was $38.

The rest of the time we took Uber, on about a dozen rides, none of which exceeded $12, and there were some long rides. Every Uber vehicle was clean and shiny, drivers opened the doors for us, and some offered bottled water and a tour guide brochure of Las Vegas. All were polite and helpful.

We have used Uber in cities all over North America. The cabs and Uber/Lyft vehicle live in harmony.

As Captain Kirk of Star Trek says: we need to “make it so” in B.C.
