Matthews, Marner step up for ballet

Not much rattles Auston Matthews on the ice. But ballet? The Maple Leafs sniper admitted he is “a little nervous” ahead of his appearance with teammate Mitch Marner as Cannon Dolls in the National Ballet of Canada’s Dec. 19 performance of the Nutcracker Suite. “As far as ballet goes, zero (dancing experience),” Matthews said. “As far as some other stuff, I’m not terrible, but I am not exactly the most agile person when it comes to dancing, so it will be interesting to see how I do there. We had this request and of course Mitch jumped at it and wanted to do it. I was all for it, too. I think it will be fun, a pretty cool experience.”
