Astros, Mets make five-player deal

The Houston Astros have traded infielder J.D. Davis and infield prospect Cody Bohanek to the New York Mets for three minor leaguers. The 25-year-old Davis played 42 games for the Astros last season, when he hit .175 with a homer and five RBI. In Triple-A Fresno, he hit .342 with 17 homers and 81 RBIs in 85 games. The Astros received outfielder Ross Adolph, catcher Scott Manea and infielder Luis Santana. Meanwhile, the Mets also sent catcher Kevin Plawecki to Cleveland. The Mets received right-hander Walker Lockett and infielder Sam Haggerty in exchange for the catcher, who played in 78 games for the Mets last season. Plawecki batted .201 with seven homers and a career-high 30 RBIs.
