Kick up the colour with this year’s trendiest tone
The PANTONE Colour of the Year for 2019 is Living Coral, or PANTONE 16-1546, if you’re looking to find the exact shade name. The hue is described by the Pantone Institute as being a “vibrant but mellow” colour meant to embrace and nurture with comfort in the ever-changing society.
“In reaction to the onslaught of digital technology and social media increasingly embedding into daily life, we are seeking authentic and immersive experiences that enable connection and intimacy,” according to the institute’s website. “Sociable and spirited, the engaging nature of PANTONE 16-1546 Living Coral welcomes and encourages lighthearted activity. Symbolizing our innate need for optimism and joyful pursuits, PANTONE 16-1546 Living Coral embodies our desire for playful expression.”
Whether or not the pinky shade makes you feel playful or connected, it will undoubtedly leave you looking stylish. A bold pop of coral colour is sure to add a touch of interest to any ensemble, makeup look, or, hey, even your home.
