Where’s the French?
I received the information package on the speculation and vacancy tax and on the back of the brochure in the Where You Can Find Help section, there was information in four languages other than English but nowhere in the brochure was there information in French, one of Canada’s official languages.
During my time in the navy, there were many francophone members, some with spouses who only knew French. As residents of B.C., francophone citizens are being treated as though they do not exist, even though they are members of one of only two official language groups in Canada.
B.C. government documents should provide information in the two official languages before those of immigrant groups. Wayne Reardon, Abbotsford
