Makeup artist and mother wants to rejuvenate her faded red hair

Maria Stefanescu is a 34-year-old makeup artist and mother of two young children. Maria loves her red hair, but wanted to updated her faded colour.

Maria has fine density hair, which is naturally wavy. To brighten her coppery red hair, I started by first placing foil slices of vibrant violet/red permanent colour throughout her hair. I then applied a deep warm-red colour to the background foundation in a permanent formula and applied the same shade in a demipermanent, ammonia-free formula to the mid-lengths and ends. The result is rich, multi-reflective, vibrant and shiny. I placed weave foils around her face and incorporated lowlights throughout her hair for tonal dimension. I applied a medium cool-brown permanent colour to her background foundation, which offers depth and draws out her eyes. I refined her colour using an ammonia-free, demi-permanent colour to create her shiny, cool-blond finish.

I shampooed her hair using KMS Color Vitality Shampoo and Conditioner to prevent colour from fading and restore radiance. I sprayed in KMS Moist Repair Leave-in Condition Spray to her mid-lengths and ends for added moisture and manageability. I sectioned her hair into a central vertical parting and cut with long face framing layers and incorporated a textured fringe.

Before styling, I applied a palm size drop of Goldwell Kerasilk Bodifying Volume Foam. I blow-dried it with a medium round brush and styled it with a curling wand to create a soft bend. I finished her style with Goldwell Kerasilk Texturizing Spray.
