HICKINBOTTOM, Christine

It is with heartbreaking sadness that we announce that Christine May Hickinbottom (nee Lowe) passed away peacefully at the Abbotsford Regional Hospital on April 25, 2019 after a short and courageous battle with cancer. Christine was born in Nottingham, England on February 28, 1944 and immigrated to the Vancouver area in 1965. In 1976 the family moved to Abbotsford. Predeceased by her loving son Russell; parents Tom and May Lowe and brother Norman. She will be dearly missed by her two children Diane (Rick) Spaidal and Adam (Stacey); grandchildren Tyler and Christine; great-grandchild Ren; and sister Pauline (David), as well as many special nieces and nephews. Christine will also be forever remembered by her extended family, Wendy and Peter, Colin and Janet, Roy and Bev and Jean and Don. Chris lived her life with love, laughter and a positive upbeat attitude, even when life got challenging. A Celebration of her Life will be held Friday, May 17, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Upper Hall at St. Helen’s Church, 10787 - 128 St, Surrey, BC. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the BC Cancer Foundation or an animal welfare charity of your choice. The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Muhammad Zulfiqar of the BC Cancer Agency, Abbotsford and to the nurses and doctors in the Palliative & Complex Care Unit at ARHCC who kept Chris as comfortable as possible during her final days.
