KOSIUR, David Paul

-

December 15, 1938 - June 12, 2019 It is with a broken heart that I announce the passing of the love of my life and best friend, Dave. He was a kind, gentle man with an enormous heart.

Dave was born in Daysland, Alberta and eventually moved to Vancouver where he met Audrey. They were married on their favourite day, (Christmas Eve) December 24, 1982. Dave’s happiest times were with Audrey on their annual Honolulu December Vacations. They would always celebrate Dave’s birthday and their wedding anniversary at the Mai Tai Bar in the Royal Hawaiian Hotel, enjoying Gabe’s "fantastic" cocktails and gazing at the "Beautiful" sunsets. Sadly those Hawaiian holidays were no longer, with Audrey’s breast cancer diagnosis in 2006.

In September of 2009, Audrey somehow persuaded Dave that he must see Europe at least once in his lifetime. They started in Paris and cruised from Venice to Barcelona. They both fell in love with Venice and would often dream of returning. Dave wanted nothing else, only to share one more Gondola Ride with Audrey down the Grand Canal.

Dave is now reunited with his beloved mother Katie and father Steve and his animals that he dearly loved, Willie, Hortense and Odie his Basset Hounds, Buddy his Silky Terrier and Midnight his Black Cat.

Dave wanted to say a heartfelt thank you to his family doctor, Dr. Max Macdonald for all the years of his wonderful care, kindness and friendship also a genuine thank you to his thoughtful staff.

He also wanted to express his gratitude to Dr. Larry Goldenberg for saving him from Prostate Cancer. He also had a special thank you for Dr. Naz Parmar for her compassionate care.

Dave was predeceased by the love of his life, his wife Audrey. He is survived by his brother-in-law Bill (Carmen) Longtin and nieces Steffi and Emilie. No service by request, please donations to The Vancouver Prostate Center. Dave, with his usual sense of humour would like you to have a "double" Absolut Vodka with (Diet) Coke for him and to always remember the laughter and the good times you shared.
