HUDSON, Mary Alexa

-

August 30, 1985 - June 4, 2019 It is with broken hearts that our family announces the passing of our beloved daughter and sister, Alexa Hudson, who died suddenly and quietly in her Vancouver home. Ally is survived by her grieving parents, Mimi and Jim, brother, James, and her extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

Ally was born in Vancouver and raised in North Vancouver where she attended Montroyal Elementary and Handsworth Secondary schools. She graduated from the University of Victoria in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts (Art History) degree and worked for many years in the hospitality industry. She was a committed volunteer and particularly loved working with the children and families at Family Services of the North Shore's I hope family centre. She later obtained her TESOL instructor designation and as a teacher, the success of her students was a source of great joy to her.

Ally was a kind and caring person with a gentle disposition and a great sense of humour. Always the good samaritan, she enjoyed helping those less advantaged than herself and believed strongly in the concept of "paying it forward". At the same time, Ally was a complex and intensely private person. Despite immeasurable grief, our family is comforted in knowing that Ally loved us as much as we loved her. We miss her terribly.

A celebration of Alexa's life will be held at 5:00pm on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at the Gordon Smith Gallery, 2121 Lonsdale Avenue, North Vancouver. Donations may be made in Alexa's name to Family Services of the North Shore.
