We caught up with Andrea Dinnick, the Canadian founder behind the U.K.based brand, to learn more.
Q. When and why did you first start Desavery?
A.
I started Desavery just over a year ago. I wanted to create a simple but really effective skin care line that was sustainable and exclusively plant-based. My research on which ingredients provide the best skin care led me to fascinating research on how inhaling certain plant ingredients can positively impact our biochemistry. I put the two concepts together and Desavery was born.
Q. Is there a story behind the name?
A.
It’s an old family name. Although our family has been in Canada for some time, we’re descendants of French Huguenots who escaped to England and the name de Savery eventually became Desavery.
Q. What makes it different from other skin care brands?
A.
Desavery products are both skin enhancing and mood enhancing. Our Stellar Daily Serum has ingredients shown to lower cortisol levels when you inhale its aroma and our Dream Daily Cleanser is designed to make you feel sleepy for a wonderful end-ofday ritual. To achieve the ideal balance and potency in our products, we source each ingredient from specialized locations around the globe and blend every batch ourselves with the utmost care.

Is there a ‘hero’ product in the line? If so, which one and why?
A.
The Stellar Daily Serum. The main ingredient is prickly pear seed oil which absorbs into skin so quickly, it’s hard to believe it’s an oil. The product is packed full of nutrients, including naturally occurring vitamin K for a brightening impact, as well as fatty acids and high levels of tocopherol (vitamin E). Bergamot, clary sage and frankincense literally put a smile on people’s faces.
Q. And which product or products would be your ‘desert island’ picks?
A.
The combination of our Smooth Hyaluronic Acid and Stellar Daily Serum are a great duo.
