Beckinsale dresses down bikini trolls
If you’re going to try to dish out insults to Kate Beckinsale, you better be prepared to get it back twofold.
The 46-year-old recently posted a series of bikini shots from her vacation in Cabo San Lucas to Instagram. And while many of her followers praised the actress’s toned physique, several users took the opportunity to try to body shame the Underworld star.
“I feel like you are having a mid-life crisis or something,” one wrote, trying to nitpick at a flawless photo of her posing on the beach.
But Beckinsale wasted no time in clapping right back. “Oh! I think that’s because you’re an annoying a**hole,” she replied.
When another Instagrammer commented that she was “too old” to be posing for such risqué photos, Beckinsale again chose not to ignore the slight.
“I don’t know you and I don’t know who has made you feel that if you get older you have no value, can’t be attractive or sexy or have a relationship with your body that isn’t only self loathing, but as one female to another, don’t let any of that noise bother you.”
But it wasn’t all negative. Beckinsale received a slew of supportive comments from her fans.
“If this is a crisis, please keep it up for as long as possible,” one remarked, while another added, “Some people just don’t know how to appreciate true beauty.”
In another post, the actress got philosophical while posing in a leopard print top and white bottoms.
“What makes us human? Having to confront our own mortality, questioning our origins through philosophy, religion and science. And the fact that if we wear white bikini bottoms we will, within the hour, sit on a choc ice.”
This isn’t the first time Beckinsale has dealt with trolls on social media.
Earlier this year when one user accused her of “dressing like a teenager,” she clapped back: “Hahaha omg you’re a hoot can we hang out.”
