DAVIDSON, Ernest (Ernie)

-

February 1, 1926 - May 25, 2020

Sadly, our father, the "battery man," passed away at 94 years of age on Monday, May 25, 2020. Ernie will be sorely missed by his two sons Brian (Bev), Ken (Colleen), his 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, many many friends and his Masonic and Shrine families. After surviving many obstacles in his young years, Dad managed to become a successful businessman sheerly from long hours and hard work. He joined the Board of Trade which took him to many destinations around the world. Continuing his affection for travel, Dad made many trips to Asia and to Cuba with family and friends. Dad was an exceptionally generous man. Often, Dad was known for treating his many friends and sometimes even strangers to a meal, picking up the tab at his insistence. Dad loved to throw parties just to have the opportunity to celebrate his family and many friends. Dad was a big advocate for crippled and burned children, hence his involvement in the Shrine. He personally afforded a number of children as well as one of his employees the corrective surgeries needed to provide these people with a better life. He was a very generous charitable man always. There is not enough room to mention all of the people he helped throughout his years. Dad’s passions were his family, The Shriners, travel, boating, and family and friend get-togethers. He loved to be in the circle of company. Already, in the short time since his passing, for us left behind the world seems empty and different from as we once knew it. He left a great impression on all of us in our family and on those whose many lives he touched. Rest in Peace Dad. Due to the situation our world is in at this time we will not be able to have a service fit for this wonderful man but will have a Celebration of Life when permitted to do so.
