TUNINGLEY, Lillian Rose

-

Mar. 23, 1918 - Feb. 22, 2020

It is with sadness we share with you the passing of Lillian Rose Tuningley, aged 101, on February 22, 2020. Lillian was born and grew up on a poor farm in Saskatchewan, and after WWll she and her husband Jim moved to BC where they raised 3 children, Delma, Allen and Lynn. The kids were raised in Coquitlam and North Delta, where home was always a place for friends, extended, family and neighbours with cinnamon buns, bunny burgers, the forever soup pot and cookies. She had a unique ability to turn ordinary events into something special for everyone. "Lil" led a long and interesting life which she chronicled in her autobiography, "My Legacy" and remembered fondly her time on Bowen Island and "Lil's B&B, a rare and magical place for her family, friends and guests. All of us, including her 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and her sister, Helen, will remember "Grandma T" for her character, humour and zest for life.

The family will hold a private Celebration of Life on Bowne Island at a date yet to be determined, when social distancing is more relaxed. Her ashes will be interred in the family plot at Victory Memorial Gardens in South Surrey. We hope you will visit her sometime.
