Lego kit delivers an affordable 2020 Lamborghini Sian

- — Alex Reid

A few months ago, Lamborghini pulled the covers off its 2020 Sian FKP 37, the marque’s latest supercar, featuring a mid-mounted V12 engine and a supercapacitor instead of a battery for the hybrid system.

The wild-looking machine turns out 819 horsepower and will be limited to just 63 examples. Unfortunately, they’re all sold, so the only way to get your hands on one now is by buying and building this Lego Technic kit.

The 1:8-scale kit looks quite close to the real thing, largely thanks to the Sian’s wild, angular design. The kit features everything you’d expect, including a mid-mounted V12 engine, pop-out spoiler, scissor doors, a full interior, and an eight-speed sequential gearbox that’s “fully functioning” with actual moving paddle shifters.

There’s even a Lamborghini luggage set in the trunk and the wheels are almost perfect replicas of the real thing.

In addition to the car model, the box itself is something of a piece of art.

Finished in the same colour as the vehicle, each side of it is styled to look like each side of the vehicle.

Opening the box reveals separate boxes that house the pieces, which look like the engine cover of the car. This set is for more advanced builders, being rated for ages 18 and up. The 3,696-piece replica rolls out at about 60 centimetres long.

The Lamborghini Sian Technic Kit is $489.99 and available directly from Lego now. It will make its way to third-party retailers Aug. 1.
