-

Jeannette Marie Maroney (nee Robertson) passed away peacefully May 31, 2020 at the Irene Thomas Hospice, Ladner (City of Delta) BC with her husband at her side. She was born in Trenton, Ontario to parents Auberon and Helena Robertson (nee Barre). She is predeceased by her parents, brother Thomas and survived by brother Paul of Napanee, Ontario. She married her husband Gordon in Trenton in August 1956 and they enjoyed almost 64 years of happiness. They have five children, Cheryl Murphy (Terry), Gwen Burnell (Greg), Pattie Fromhyr (Dave), Jim Maroney (Linda) and Michele Berry (Mark) all of whom reside in the Lower Mainland. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren along with numerous cousins in both Ontario and BC.

Her husband's employment took the family to several cities in Ontario before moving to Edmonton in 1967 then Calgary and finally in 1972 to Vancouver. Every move was an adventure that she enjoyed and she made lasting friendships wherever she went. Her goal in life was to support her husband and children to achieve their very best and she did this in spades.

Her first out of country vacation was to Hawaii in 1975 where she fell in love with all the islands and especially Maui which she returned to many times. She also enjoyed annual family vacations in Osoyoos which included a glass or two of Okanagan's fine red wines. She visited every province, some more than once, numerous US states and many times to her favorite cities of Phoenix and San Francisco . Trips to Britain and mainland Europe were favorite vacations especially England, Scotland & Italy. She enjoyed travel but she was always happy and excited to return home to her family and the Lower Mainland.

She loved family gatherings especially Christmas when she would prepare a celebration for all to remember. Children especially babies always made her smile and in turn they naturally took to her in kind. She was a kind and gentle woman, generous with others and fiercely proud and supportive of all her family. Her passing leaves a huge hole in all our lives. Fortunately we have many fond memories to share with each other. She will be forever loved and missed by her husband and family and can never be replaced.

May she rest in peace. No service by request. Private family celebration of life arranged.
