Djokovic wins record-breaking title
Novak Djokovic captured his record-breaking 36th Masters 1000 title on Monday with a 7-5, 6-3 victory over Diego Schwartzman in the Internazionali BNL d'Italia final in Rome. The topseeded and top-ranked Serbian had shared the record with World No. 2 Rafael Nadal of Spain, but moved ahead of his rival with his fifth trophy in the Italian capital.
Djokovic, 33, rallied from a double break down in the opening set against Argentina's Schwartzman and improved his record to 31-1 this season.
Djokovic and Nadal have combined to win 14 of the past 16 titles in Rome.
Meanwhile, Canada's Denis Shapovalov moved up to 10th in the world ATP Rankings.
