Elizabeth Arden's Flawless duo
What it is: Two recent product additions to Elizabeth Arden's beauty lineup that highlight a multi-purpose approach.
Both available in November, the Flawless Start Hydrating Serum Primer features the powerhouse skin-care ingredient hyaluronic acid to plump and hydrate skin. The dual-purpose product “cares like a serum and preps like a primer for fresh, radiant skin,” according to a news release.
The Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Skincaring Foundation is a long-wearing, foundation with a natural finish that offers buildable coverage that is lightweight and wears for up to 24 hours.
Available in 18 shades, the hybrid formula features skin-boosting ingredients including hyaluronic acid and vitamins C and E to hydrate and nourish skin. The foundation formula is dermatologist tested, noncomedogenic, and free of parabens and fragrance.
What we say: Six months of working from home means many of us aren't wearing much makeup these days, our tester included.
Thankfully, this primer and foundation feel more like skin care than a makeup addition, so it was easy to incorporate these two products into our tester's everyday routine.
The primer has a gel-like texture that was easy to pat into skin after normal skincare products including serum, moisturizer and sunscreen. The formula was hydrating enough that those who prefer to use fewer products may well find this serumprimer can substitute for a few others (don't skimp on the sunscreen, though).
The foundation is lightweight and easy to blend. Our tester used a light hand when applying the product, focusing on areas of concern such as redness and acne scarring. Buffed in with a syntheticbrush, it gave her skin a nice, subtly airbrushed appearance. The formula wore well on skin, remaining smooth and lightweight, without drying out skin or becoming slick.
