GORDIN, Cheryl Anne

-

In April of 1964 Cheryl was brought home in a shoe box on the front seat of the family car by her parents who both preceded her to the other side - Marilyn Gordin, a kindergarten teacher and Robert Gordin, a Steelworker. It was a loving home she shared with older brothers John, who too preceded her to the other side, and Arch. Shortly after Cheryl turned 16 she began a loving relationship with Randal Dillon. The pair had known each other since 1967. Their hard work and loyalty to a series of employers provided both a good life. So good, in fact, they began travelling beyond their country’s borders to the country they regarded as their second home, Mexico, in 1999. Cheryl was loved by many others besides Randal. Immediate family, her in-laws, childhood friends, neighbours and the many friends she made of her fellow workers all had their lives enriched by her presence. Special thanks to the workers at Holmberg House hospice, Abbotsford Hospital and Cancer Centre and the team of community nurses and home support workers that permitted Cheryl to remain in her home longer than her family expected possible. A memorial service will be held for Cheryl when we can more safely do so. If you wish to mark her departure for the other side on September 26, 2020 with a donation, she would love it if you do so to any charity that does good things for animals.
