With great sadness we announce that our dear mother, sister, and friend passed away peacefully at Royal Columbian Hospital on December 15, 2020. Her sister Shirley was by her side. Like most things in her life, Lindsey faced a devastating cancer diagnosis with bravery, determination, grace and above all humor. Despite her limitations, she continued to walk over 10,000 steps most days! Lindsey was inspirational to all who watched her navigate such a serious illness. Born Marlene Warder in Thunder Bay, Ontario in 1944, Lindsey overcame many obstacles. She knew she wanted to be a teacher the first time she went to school. "As her little sister, I was always learning from her," said Shirley Warder. Lindsey went on to earn both Bachelor (1979) and Master (1990) degrees in Education from UBC. She had a long career as an elementary school teacher and counsellor and retired from the Surrey School District. Lindsey's passions were: cycling, singing, reading, dragon boating, and water aerobics. Her friends described her as a "force of nature"; she was smart, kind, strong and had a big heart. The love and dedication to her four children, however, was her life's greatest passion. She reveled in every stage of their growth and development and was completely devoted to their education and well-being. Lindsey will be lovingly remembered by: Mikaela, Zoe, Heather and Hunter. She will be greatly missed by her sister Shirley, her niece Kaurina and many valued friends. There will be a private interment and a celebration of Lindsey's life later in 2021. Memorial donations in her name may be made to the B.C. Cancer Foundation or to the charity of your choice.

You will never forget your loved ones!
