JANSEN, Karonne Emmeline (Abbott)

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our lovely mother, Karonne, on December 24th, 2020. She was predeceased by her husband, Ross Laidley in 2009. Survived by her children Laura (Reid), Curt (Jaromey) and Carolyn and her grandchildren David, Christopher, Kiana, Jordan, Jocelan, Bailey and Casey.

Karonne was born in Vancouver and raised in Revelstoke where she grew to love the outdoors; hiking, fishing and making many trips to Shuswap Lake with her family. Karonne's true passion, however, was music and entertainment. From an early age she studied voice and won countless singing awards throughout B.C. She joined the Elgar choir and traveled to Europe to tour with them. She became involved in many Vancouver musical productions including performances at TUTs, the VOA, countless Gilbert and Sullivan productions, many musical comedies, and continued with her passion in the later part of her life joining her husband, Ross in many shows with the United Entertainers.

Karonne cherished the time spent around her beloved pool in her backyard in Ladner with many friends and family. It was her happy place with a lovely garden that she adored. So many pictures from those times! And so many gnomes!

Mom's last years were spent at the Waterford in Tsawwassen. Thank you to all the staff there for your wonderful care. There is no service planned at this time. As per her wishes, the family will gather at "The Cabin" at Shuswap lake at a later date to celebrate her life.
