MCCOACH, Margaret Mary

June 1, 1933 - January 10, 2021

-

It is with great sadness that we announce, after 87 years of a life well lived, Margaret McCoach passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 10th.

Margaret was born June 1, 1933 in Glasgow, Scotland, the youngest of six. Margaret grew up during the depression and the war and survived the loss of both of her parents while still in her teens. However, she was young, strong and adventurous and her faith and joy of life also survived. In February of 1957 Margaret married the love of her life, Patrick McCoach from Clydebank, Scotland. Their honeymoon was a one-way trip to Canada to start a new life and a new family.

Margaret's 63 years in Canada was a full life, raising a family and then watching that family blossom into a large, extended and happy brood. Her door was always open and hospitality sincere. There was never a person turned away hungry even, if truth be told, she was never famous for her cooking!

The family would like to thank The Madison Care Centre in Coquitlam. The angels there did a wonderful job of keeping Margaret comfortable and peaceful right to the end. For that, we are very grateful.

Margaret was predeceased by her husband Patrick in 1982. She is survived by her children John (Heather), Stephen (Yvonne) David (Rouchelle), grandchildren Daniel (Hannah), Kyle (Jayd), Scott (Meghan), Leah (Amar), Colleen (Graham), Michael, Emma, Conor, Hannah and Spencer. Also her great grandchildren Georgia and Adrian and her many nieces, nephews and their families. Margaret will be missed by the many who knew her.

A private service will be held on January 18 where Margaret will be laid to rest next to her husband Patrick. We look forward to a time in the near future when friends and family can gather to have a proper sendoff.

In lieu of flowers, please pour yourself a wee dram and raise a toast to a little Scottish lady who wandered far away and found what she was looking for.
