B.C. kicks off $45M program to aid youths with job opportunities
The B.C. government is launching a $45-million youth employment program it estimates will provide more than 5,000 youth and young adults with jobs and skills training.
Premier John Horgan said the Future Leaders program will provide young people with opportunities for stable, good jobs and practical work experience at a time when their career paths have been disrupted by the global COVID-19 pandemic.
“This pandemic has set back many young people from starting their careers, Horgan said at a news conference Tuesday. “These positions will promote innovation and sustainability, and young people will earn an income while they're gaining experience.”
