Bev passed away peacefully at the age of 88. She is lovingly remembered by husband Einar, daughter Susan Owens (Peter), sons Eric (Karen), Steven, Brent (Charmaine) and grandchildren Sean (Veronica), Rosemary MillerTait (Shane), Jordan (Aly), Nick (Raegan), Campbell, Colten, Cash, and great grandchildren Cole, Piper and Hazel, as well as a loving extended family and many cherished friends. Born and raised in North Vancouver, Bev also spent time with her grandmother in Armstrong. She attended Queen Mary and Armstrong Elementary Schools and graduated from North Van High. She married her high school sweetheart, Einar, in 1953. They moved to Chilliwack, where Susan and Eric were born, then back to the North Shore, where Steve and Brent were born. Bev loved children, and willingly volunteered with the Aquarium, March of Dimes, and North Van Youth Band. In 1972 she began her ideal job in housing at SFU. She received staff awards twice during her 25 years there, for contributing to the university community. After retirement, Bev enjoyed the SFU Retirees' Association, bike riding, pitch & putt, Wednesday Walkers, and travelling with Einar. Recently they downsized to Ambleside, then to Amica Edgemont, where they could relax and be cared for. Bev often said "I like where we live". Bev appreciated the world around her and saw the good in everyone. She loved her family, and said her happiness came from spending life with the right partner. Bev will be remembered for her warmth, kindness and zest for life. Thank you to Lions Gate Hospital and North Shore Hospice, where Bev was treated with such care and kindness.
