If you were lucky enough to have met Leanore Copeland, you would not forget her; she was charming, intelligent, witty, elegant and beautiful. She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Martin, her daughters Leah and Tracey, her grandchildren Hannah, Harrison, Isaac and Sonja, her sister Marlie, and her brother Jack. Leanore was born in Edmonton and obtained a BA from the University of Alberta after which she taught high school English. After working in real estate in Victoria, she went on to obtain an MBA from the Pacific Lutheran University in Washington. Thereafter, and with great passion, she pursued many business, political, artistic and entertainment endeavours. Her position as a special advisor to the Minister of Revenue and Fisheries in Ottawa was certainly a career highlight. Above all, she was an avid reader and an excellent writer. Leanore loved to travel, to Europe, Asia, South America, Australia, and the Caribbean. South America was such a special place for her that she commenced writing a book called "The Other America" and hosted the Peru Pavilion during Expo '86 in Vancouver. Leanore loved all things beautiful, including the symphony, opera, ballet, fine art, sculpture, theatre, and dance. As a graduate of the Royal Conservatory of Music, she became an accomplished pianist at a very young age. Her keen aesthetic sense extended to her fashion and décor choices as well as to the many gorgeous cakes she baked for friends and family. We will all deeply miss her brilliance, infectious smile, quick wit, sense of style, love of culture (and candy!) and her zest for life. May she rest in peace!
