JAROSINSKI, Gerald (Gerry)

-

Passed away peacefully of cancer on March 12, 2021 at the age of 74. He was born in Montreal, Quebec and predeceased by his father Stanley 1962 and mother Agatha in 2018. He will be lovingly remembered by siblings, Pat (Kim) Spitze, Tom (Kathy), Bernice (Joe) Carvery, nephews, Michael, Kenneth, Justin, Travis and niece Chelsea. Gerry attended high school at Vancouver College, and he graduated his senior year from Notre Dame in Wilcox, Saskatchewan. After high school he started working at the BC Liquor Distribution Board, where he worked until retirement. Throughout his career he worked at several stores, but where he excelled as a manager was at the Whalley store, and was known as the “King of Discounts”. As he passed through the LDB he mentored many people and always had time to ensure they were successful in their careers. Gerry was truly kind and generous as a manager, and when the employees were having a tough day, he would bring pizza or sushi in for the staff to ease their stress. He donated to many charities and was a supporter for organizations such as Cops for Cancer and Athol Murray College of Notre Dame. He had many hobbies, including golf, fishing and collecting memorabilia such as sports cards, vinyl records, and of course he would never pass up an opportunity to accumulate more airmiles. We want to thank the staff on the 5th floor of the Surrey Memorial Hospital and the nurses at Laurel Hospice for their loving care and support during Gerry’s final weeks. He will be fondly remembered by many friends, neighbours and relatives. A celebration of life will be held at a later date due to the current COVID restrictions.
