Dodgers' Seager out at least a month

Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Corey Seager will be sidelined at least a month with a broken bone in his right hand, manager Dave Roberts confirmed Sunday.

The team placed Seager on the 10-day injured list and recalled catcher Keibert Ruiz from triple A Oklahoma City.

Seager, 27, was struck by a pitch in the fifth inning of Saturday's 7-0 victory against the visiting Miami Marlins.

A 90-mph sinker from Marlins Ross Detwiler hit him in the side of the hand.

Seager, the 2020 World Series most valuable player, is batting .265 this season with four home runs and 22 RBIs.A two-time all-star and the 2016 National League rookie of the year, Seager is a career .293 hitter with 92 homers and 329 RBIs in 578 games with the Dodgers.
