ANGUS, Christopher (Gus) Kemp
March 14, 1950 - June 12, 2021
After seventy-one years of high adventure, and forty-nine of those with wife Dana, Gus has gone on to enliven the spirits of great friends and family who have gone before him.
A short but determined battle with Leukemia, Gus just could't beat this one, an unusual result for him.
Predeceased by parents Forrie and Patsy Angus, and father-in-law, Dave Manning, brother-in-law, Paul Manning.
Survived by his wife Dana, son Toby (Dylan), daughter Chloe (Gabe), son Ben (Lisa), son Charles (Jesa), daughter Sophie, brothers Norman and Mark (Jim), twelve grandchildren Vanessa, Taylor, Sasha, Ashley, Lily, Cody, Brittany, Angus, Jason, Stella, Patsy, Kaytlin, and 2 great-grandsons Bowie and Grey; and the many members that make up the "Angus Clan".
For Gus, life was adventure. From expeditions in the Arctic to walking the Rift Valley in Africa, he led a very storied life that he would tell with animation and enthusiasm to any open ear. He was a revered storyteller.
Gus was an independent, hard-working man who was a leader in all that he did. From early years working with Orcas and the Vancouver Aquarium, to pioneering organic standards in aquaculture in Canada, working and fishing in Hakai Pass to many other mischievous and fortuitous escapades.
He, and the love of his life Dane, raised a large family in the remote paradise known to all as "The Bay", where they have lived for forty-four years and where his spirit will continue to soar and to watch over Dane, the family, and his beloved bay.
He had a huge heart for humans and animals alike and inspired those around him to always do their best. This is evident in his family's approach to life and in their commitment to continue his legacy.
