PERRY, Patrick Joseph

-

Sep 21, 1961 - Apr 18, 2022 Born on September 21st, 1961, in Vancouver, British Columbia Patrick passed away peacefully after a valiant battle with cancer on April 18th, 2022, at St John Hospice. Patrick was a graduate of Magee Secondary School in 1979 and obtained a degree in Economics at UBC. An avid athlete, Patrick played competitive rugby, baseball, football, and hockey as well as being a phenomenal skier. Patrick was a world traveler, living in Vancouver, Hong Kong, and Toronto, and working throughout China during his professional life. Pat had no pets, preferring the company of humans and sharing a special disdain for the family dog Princess. Pat had incredible enthusiasm for life, never missing an opportunity to fill his day with the company of friends and family whether that be golfing, snow skiing, or enjoying a meal around the table. Patrick's son Aiden was the pride and joy of his life, and the two could often be found on the baseball diamond together. Pat had many friends, and always found a way to make time for them all, often over a cold Stella. Patrick's positivity and patience made him an outstanding father, uncle, husband, friend, and coach. When diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2021, his only wish was that he could enjoy more time with his family and friends. True to his character, Patrick approached the challenging brain cancer diagnosis with courage and optimism, often showing concern for others before himself. Patrick is predeceased by his father Paul and his mother-in-law Amelia. He is survived by his beloved son Aiden, his devoted mother Terry, the mother of his son Nicolette, his sisters Mary-Anne and Carol, his brother Michael, his sister-inlaw Angela, his fiancé Liz Jacobson and her son Christopher, his 12 nieces and nephews, and his one grandniece. A service will be held at St. John the Apostle Parish on May 4th at 11AM, followed by a reception from 12:30-3PM at the Arbutus Club. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the BC Cancer Foundation NeuroOncology Team.
