NELSON, Karen

Mar 27, 1939 - Apr 24, 2022

-

We are saddened to announce the passing of Karen Nelson of Langley, BC. She left us on April 24, 2022, to be reunited with her lifelong love, Albert Nelson.

Karen was born to Alice and Bud McEachern in Weyburn, Saskatchewan in 1939. She moved out west to Langley as a teenager, and attended Langley Secondary School. Karen was a nurse at Riverview Hospital, though her most important and treasured roles were as wife, mother and grandmother.

She was a lover of curling, boating, and her place was always a hub with open doors for anyone to drop in, especially on Fridays after work. Her latter years were filled with adventure and travel with her dear friends Marianne, Sheila, and Joyce, most notably exploring China.

Karen will be remembered as fiercely independent, caring, and abundantly generous. Her devotion to her friends and family was endless, and she could always be relied on for a ride, a long phone call, or a warm meal on your doorstep, just because.

Karen is predeceased by parents Alice and Bud, and brothers Dale, Blaine and Kelly. Those left to cherish Karen's memory are her brother Garry (Bette), her sisters Cheryl (Ernie), Janis (Gord), and Wendy (Bob), her two sons, Bradly (Heather) and Jody (Nikki), five grandchildren Daniel, Marin, Kali, Jenna (Josh), Emily, and great-grandson Leo. A special thank you to the care staff at Langley Memorial Hospital, and to Lynn for her loving and attentive care. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
