Nick Cave's son dead at 31

Nick Cave's son Jethro Lazenby has died at age 31.

The 64-year-old musician confirmed the tragic news that his son had died in a statement he released on Monday.

“With much sadness, I can confirm that my son, Jethro, has passed away. We would be grateful for family privacy at this time.”

A cause of death is yet to be revealed.

Jethro was born in 1991 and lived in Australia, working as an actor, photographer and model.

He and his dad did not meet until he was around eight years old.

“It was a difficult time, but it turned out great in the end,” Cave said in a 2008 interview with The Guardian.

Cave's loss comes seven years after his son Arthur died in July 2015 after falling from a cliff in England at age 15.
