Dan passed away peacefully from complicati­ons due to multiple myeloma in Richmond, BC. Dan was born in 1935 in Toronto and graduated from UofT in 1961 in mining engineerin­g. Dan worked for Noranda Mines for over 25 years and traveled extensivel­y to Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Peru, India, Morocco, Alaska, and Ghana. In 1993, Dan moved to Vancouver to work as a mining consultant with Hunter Dickinson, Terrane Minerals, Timmins Gold, and Northisle Copper & Gold. In 2013, Dan retired for the last time and committed himself to his passions: hunting down mystery novels; wine making; exercising; traveling; cheering on the Leafs, Jays, Raptors, & Canucks; and, spending time with friends and family. Dan leaves behind an enormous community of respected colleagues from the mining industry; dear friends in Toronto & Vancouver; extended family in Italy; close relatives in Toronto (sister Cecilia; brother Eugene; nephews Tony, Nick, Joe, Eugene Jr.; and niece Candace); and, his immediate family including his wife of 54 years, Claire; daughters Andrea (husband Michael) and Renata; and, his beloved grandchild­ren Stephanie (17) & Matthew (14) (father Dave Sinclair); Simone (14) & Giselle (10). Dan's philosophy on life was a simple one: work hard, play hard. Celebratio­n of Life gatherings to be held in Vancouver and Toronto.
