FOCKLER, Steven James (Rainbow)

December 12, 1985 – May 7, 2022

-

Steve is survived by parents, John and Sue, and brothers Mick (Kelly) and Brad (Anne) as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Steve grew up in Lynn Valley in North Vancouver and enjoyed playing sports including hockey, soccer, and baseball. He loved the outdoors on his mountain bike, hiking, and snowboarding. He played piano and trumpet and was an avid music fan.

At age 18, he began working in the pipeline industry and his career took him all across western Canada. He was known as Rainbow to his co-workers and was an exceptionally hard worker. His wild humour and antics frequently kept them going during long, hard days. He had a unique sense of fashion and always found a way to express himself through his outfits and style.

Steve spent the last three years based in the West End of Vancouver, a city he always loved. The family spent a great deal of time together over this period, which included many dinners, birthday celebrations and time in Whistler.

Steve lived life on his own terms and while he worked hard, he played even harder. His lifestyle eventually caught up to him and he passed away on May 7. We will always remember Steve as a fun, thoughtful, eccentric, and strongwilled person.

He will be sorely missed by all of his loving and supportive family, friends, and co-workers.

The family would like to send thanks for all of the support they have received during this sad time. Donations would be greatly appreciated to The Rainbow Fund in memory of Steve. https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/ m/72331 Funds will support PHS Community Services Society’s safe supply and enhanced access initiatives for those in need.
