HENDERSON, Vella

With great sorrow we announce that Vella Henderson has passed away in Chilliwack, BC. She was our solid foundation, our guiding light and our loving comfort. Vella is survived by the love of her life, Bob, married just shy of 69 years; 4 daughters, Cheryl (John), Kathy (Gord), Janice (Roy), Lesli (John); 9 granddaughters, Andrea (Ken), Kristy (Shawn), Jillian (Pete), Heather (Trent), Shannon (Will), Maeghan (Steve), Kelsi (Hayden), Katelynn (Ryan), Haili; 3 greatgrandsons Henderson, Maverick, Dominick; sisters Cleo, Charlotte, Viola; sisters-in-law Donna, Carole (John); numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Predeceased by sister Shirley, brothers Bill, Charlie and Lige.

Vella had a strong sense of fairness. She was slow to anger and quick to forgive. To family and friends, she was kind, thoughtful, and loving. She looked for, and found the best in everything.

She was community minded. She was a Past President of the Chilliwack Kinette Club, active in her church, a member of the Chilliwack Curling Club and a member of 2 bridge clubs.

Vella will be missed very much by all those who had the joy of knowing her.

Funeral service will be held from the Chapel of Henderson's Funeral Home, Chilliwack BC on Thursday, May 19, at 11:00am, Reverend Kevin Sprong officiating. There will be a reception following the service in the adjacent Tea Room. Interment at Chilliwack Cemetery.
