TALNEY, Margot

On April 21, 2022 we said goodbye to our beautiful Mom, Grandma, sister, aunt, friend and neighbour, Margot Talney. She was a very unique, humble and unassuming person who touched so many people with her kindness, generosity, her edgy sense of humour and fun-loving nature, her integrity, her devotion, and her extraordinary talent and skill as a violinist. She had a deeply rooted tendency to see the good in people, and that was demonstrated throughout her life through her everyday actions. Margot was utterly devoted to her husband of 49 years, Doug, who passed away in 2005, her daughters Susan and Ellen, and her grandchildren Dylan and Star. She had a full and rewarding career as a professional violinist. She was a proud member of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra for many years, and also played gigs with other performers who came to town; operas, ballets, top tier jazz artists etc. Her musicianship was an inseparable part of who she was. Margot was so loved and will be so missed.

Margot requested no funeral service be held. A small, private gathering will be held at a future date.
