We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Chris. He was a beloved father, husband, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend.

Chris was born in London, England to Rosemary & Peter (deceased). He moved to Montreal when he was five years old. He and his family then settled in Ottawa where he forged lifelong friendships and many happy memories. Chris attended the University of Guelph's School of Hotel and Food Administration. He graduated with a B.Comm in 1981.

He met his wife, Diane shortly after graduation and they married in 1984, eventually settling in North Vancouver. They had 38 wonderful and adventurous years together. Chris was a devoted father of five and his children were the centre of his universe. His first born, Lauren Alexandra predeceased him in 1987. We are comforted in the knowledge that Chris has been reunited with his baby girl. Matthew (Anna), Mark (Jennie), Michelle and Michael are his beautiful legacy. Chris was over the moon when his grandson, Maksim Alexander was born. His daily Facetime chats with Maks were a huge source of delight for him. His sister Shirley (Michel) brother Michael (Sharon) and in-laws Joan & Gord Simpson, Laurie (Fred) and Andrew (Piali) as well as many special nieces and nephews loved him dearly. Our sincerest thanks to all the first responders who tried so valiantly to save him. Special gratitude to his friend Chris T., for holding and comforting Chris in his final moments. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to BC Children's Hospital in honour of Chris will be gratefully accepted.

Chris had a beautiful life full of rich experiences. He loved travelling, sailing, coaching and spending time with family and friends. His passing has left a huge void in all our lives. We will love and honour him forever
