Andy Griffith Show's Peterson dies at 81
Maggie Peterson, known for her role as Charlene Darling on The Andy Griffith Show, died Sunday at age 81.
Her niece Amy Royer and nephew Ben Eaton confirmed the news Monday on her Facebook page that “she passed peacefully in her sleep with her family present”.
The social media post said Peterson died in her sleep and that her health grew worse when her husband, Gus Mancuso, died of Alzheimer's disease in 2021.
Peterson also appeared in the TV shows Green Acres, The Odd Couple, and Love, American Style. Her film credits include Casino (1965) and Mars Attacks! (1996).
