STASIUK, Victor (Witali) Ignatieff
July 17, 1932 - May 13, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, great-uncle, and brother, after a battle with lung cancer. Victor was born in the village of Kodal, in Ukraine, and immigrated to Canada in 1951. Victor made his living as a dry cleaner, tailor and draper. He and his wife of fifty-five years, Luba (nee Gorkuscha) raised their five sons in Richmond, B.C. As well as his proficiency in his chosen job, Victor was a talented dancer (especially the Tango) and dance teacher. He and Luba, and later their sons, had all performed with their Ukrainian dance troupe at many venues including Vancouver's Queen Elizabeth Theatre. Victor was predeceased by his parents Ignatieff and Melentyna, his beloved wife Luba, and his brother Boris. Victor is survived by his brother Slavko, his sons Russell (Christine), Gregory (Fiona), Jeffrey (Janice), Gary (Cynthia), Mark (Lauren), and grandchildren Tylor (Jen), Jesse, Joshua (Molly), Alexandra (Matt), Chanel, Meghan (Curtis), Mathew, Edan, Jules and great-grandchildren William, Joseph, and extended family. A private family gathering will be held to celebrate Victor's life. In lieu of flowers, consider donations to the Peace Arch Hospital Foundation in Victor's name.
