MERRIFIELD, Raymond

Raymond L. Merrifield quietly left us on May 6, 2022 in North Vancouver. Ray was born in Copper Cliff, Ontario to Anthony and Albertine (nee Levis). Ray was predeceased by his beloved wife Arlene (nee Halland). Ray is the loving father of Dan (Stacey Lowrie), Kurt and Nicole (Darren Hribar). He also leaves behind granddaughters Paige, Sarah, Megan and Sophie and many nieces, nephews, and close friends. Ray obtained his P. Eng at Michigan Tech where he also played hockey for the Huskies. He worked for Cominco and Kilborn Engineering in Canada and abroad. Ray was an avid reader who loved music, especially opera, western movies and spy novels. He enjoyed tailored suits but rarely did his pajamas match and were often worn inside out, backwards or both. Ray was a gifted athlete who excelled at hockey and baseball. He was a charismatic raconteur who was the life of every party. He was a great man who appreciated the little things like shining his shoes or a fresh cup of tea. He loved his family and his home and he never tired of strolling along the ocean with Arlene. His final wish was to sit by the sea at Ambleside. Godspeed Dad.
