NEWSAM, Marguerite (Fouquette) Chretien
Marguerite passed away on March 7, 2020 in Apache Junction, Arizona at the age of 92. Born in Lafond, Alberta to parents, Alderic Fouquette and Flore (Desaulniers). The family moved from St. Paul, Alberta to Maillardville, BC in 1942. Marguerite worked hard to raise her own family and in 1995 moved to Arizona to share a new life with Fred Newsam, who passed away in 2007. Predeceased by seven brothers and one sister. Survived by sisters, Rita, Lilliane and Helene. Marguerite will be forever in the hearts of her children, Jean (Alida), Ronald, Lorraine, and Norman (Johanne); eight grandchildren, Michael (Tammy), Amanda, Danielle, Jeffrey (Danielle), Mark, Stephen (Shauna), Nicholas, & Andrew; five great grand-children, Maddux, Logan, Oliver, Tatum and Emmett. She is dearly missed by her Newsam family in the United States.
Marguerite loved card games, played a mean game of billiards and was a skilled crafter, particularly crocheted & knitted afghans, now family treasures. A fantastic cook & baker, Marguerite's tourtieres and lemon meringue pies were delicious. Marguerite had devout faith in God, took pride in her work, had a great sense of humour, a generous heart, volunteered in the community, and loved her family and friends. Delayed due to the global pandemic, a Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 27, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Fatima Parish, 315 Walker Street, Coquitlam, BC.
