NEWSAM, Marguerite (Fouquette) Chretien

Marguerite passed away on March 7, 2020 in Apache Junction, Arizona at the age of 92. Born in Lafond, Alberta to parents, Alderic Fouquette and Flore (Desaulnier­s). The family moved from St. Paul, Alberta to Maillardvi­lle, BC in 1942. Marguerite worked hard to raise her own family and in 1995 moved to Arizona to share a new life with Fred Newsam, who passed away in 2007. Predecease­d by seven brothers and one sister. Survived by sisters, Rita, Lilliane and Helene. Marguerite will be forever in the hearts of her children, Jean (Alida), Ronald, Lorraine, and Norman (Johanne); eight grandchild­ren, Michael (Tammy), Amanda, Danielle, Jeffrey (Danielle), Mark, Stephen (Shauna), Nicholas, & Andrew; five great grand-children, Maddux, Logan, Oliver, Tatum and Emmett. She is dearly missed by her Newsam family in the United States.

Marguerite loved card games, played a mean game of billiards and was a skilled crafter, particular­ly crocheted & knitted afghans, now family treasures. A fantastic cook & baker, Marguerite's tourtieres and lemon meringue pies were delicious. Marguerite had devout faith in God, took pride in her work, had a great sense of humour, a generous heart, volunteere­d in the community, and loved her family and friends. Delayed due to the global pandemic, a Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 27, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Fatima Parish, 315 Walker Street, Coquitlam, BC.
