SWAYNE, Patricia Mavis (Patty)

Born December 2nd 1949, a true Sagittarius with a wanderlust and passion for adventure; Patty, Patsy, Patricia had an incredible gift of making everyone feel they were her best friend. With her ongoing mistrust of technology, she carried several years of calendars to ensure she never missed an event in anyone's life. She could be found combing the markets from Bargain Basements to Beijing in search of the perfect items for her notorious gift-bags. Party Patty was always dressed and ready to add sparkle (and confetti) to every event. With her husband of nearly 35 years, Gary and Patsy RV'd, sailed, cruised, and flew all over the globe with salt, sea, and wind in their hair. The special retreats for these "foodies" were in Greece and Costa Rica. Of course, planning for these adventures required five pounds of Blistex, copious packages of sticky-notes, destination pamphlets, maps of every town to be visited, "dolly shoes" and a suitcase filled with black and white attire. Cruises always required an art-auction paddle (and Gary's wallet).

Patty, the Condiment Queen, enjoyed her kitchen where she created luscious and never-before-seen charcuterie boards. As the caterer on their yacht, Ceilidh Mara, Patty served a variety of local ethnic cuisine.

Patricia Mavis Noble Swayne loved flying for Pacific Western Airlines, Canadian Airlines and Air Canada; and hung up her wings in 2002. Survived by her adoring husband Gary and his children Siobhan and Michael, her favourite sister Sandy, her loving niece and nephew, Jeanette and Jamie; her great nieces and nephew and her myriad of lifelong faithful friends.

On May 17, 2022 Patty dusted off her wings to take her final flight.

At Patty's request please do not send flowers, and there will be no service. You may choose to send a donation to the Sunshine Coast SPCA.
