Green projects problematic

The Recorder & Times (Brockville) - - OPINION -

For years the Wynne government had been foisting wind turbine projects on various municipalities in Ontario at will, against opposition, this even though we have a surplus of electricity that is being sold off at a huge loss to taxpayers.

Common sense would dictate if you have enough electricity we should not be building more unsightly, inefficient and highly subsidized wind-turbines. I find it mind-boggling with these monstrosities blighting the Ontario landscape and chewing up thousands of birds, some of which are likely endangered, all we get from “environmentalists” is their deafening silence.

Premier Doug Ford is acting quickly to stop the nonsensical costly green energy projects and do away with carbon taxes that are killing our economy and harming every Ontarian.

Sadly, the Liberals have taxpayers locked into long-term contracts with foreign companies that supply wind turbines and solar systems that will be difficult to get out of.

The thousands of green jobs Wynne promised never materialized, while foreign companies made out like bandits, with Ontario taxpayers on the hook for billions for years to come. Nice to see a new sheriff in town putting some much-needed common sense ahead of ideology!
