The St. Lawrence Shake­speare Fes­ti­val of­fi­cially starts its “Sea­son of Love” on Satur­day evening with the open­ing of As You Like It. The fes­ti­val’s 16th sea­son pairs that pop­u­lar com­edy with The Tam­ing of the Shrew, pre­sent­ing mir­ror images of love and courtship. The Tam­ing of the Shrew opens on Wed­nes­day at 7 p.m. Shrew is, in the words of artis­tic di­rec­tor Richard Sheri­dan Wil­lis, a “danger­ous rom­com,” while As You Like It is among the Bard’s most ac­ces­si­ble plays. The Recorder and Times caught up with the Prescott crew dur­ing a brief me­dia event at the am­phithe­atre on Tues­day morn­ing.
