cole cameron is headed to North Bay. the 20-year-old John­stown, ont. na­tive was ac­quired by the North Bay Bat­tal­ion in a trade with the owen sound at­tack. North Bay gave up its fourth-round pick in the 2019 OHL Pri­or­ity se­lec­tion for cameron, a five-foot-11, 175-pound right shot de­fence­man who signed with owen sound as a free agent in 2016. cameron came to the at­tack dur­ing the 2016-17 sea­son from ri­d­ley col­lege. he played in 61 games in his first cam­paign and dressed in 66 games the next sea­son. he com­piled two goals and 14 as­sists in his two years with the at­tack, who are coached by car­di­nal-born todd Gill. “ev­ery­thing is a process in life, and peo­ple that rush usu­ally make poor de­ci­sions,” said stan But­ler in a Bat­tal­ion press re­lease an­nounc­ing the cameron deal. “we’re go­ing to eval­u­ate. we’ve got a very young group of d that have got an op­por­tu­nity. But i don’t think there’s any doubt that, if an over­age de­fence­man is there that we feel can help our team, we’ll def­i­nitely do some­thing.” cameron also played three sea­sons in the up­per canada cy­clones sys­tem be­tween 2011 and 2014.
