An­nual Bakeap­ple Fes­ti­val of­fers full week

The 18th an­nual Gar­nish Bakeap­ple Fes­ti­val is sched­uled Aug. 7-15 this year.

The line up of events is for both young to old, to come out and join in the fun.

Start­ing Satur­day, Aug. 7, is the ‘Bakeap­ple In­vi­ta­tional’ golf tour­na­ment at the Grande Mead­ows Golf Course. Through the week there will be ‘night golf ’ as well at the French­man’s Cove course.

A Gospel Con­cert is sched­uled for Sun­day. The of­fi­cial open­ing for the fes­ti­val is Mon­day, Aug. 9, at 5 p.m.

There are events planned to go on through­out the week such as break­fast ev­ery morn­ing from Tues­day to Satur­day start­ing 8 a.m.; events for young with an amaz­ing race, fam­ily ball hockey, old time con­cert, craft fair/flea mar­ket, teen’s amaz­ing race, adult amaz­ing race, fam­ily bon­fire, adult dance, ec­u­meni­cal ser­vice and more.

Most of these events will be held in the Com­mu­nity Cen­ter.

The fes­ti­val ends Sun­day night with a dis­play of fire­works at 10 p.m. on the wharf.
