The Burin Penin­sula District RCMP is con­duct­ing an in­ves­ti­ga­tion into a break and en­ter at Chase’s Diner in Marys­town.

The in­ci­dent hap­pened some­time dur­ing the night, be­tween mid­night and 10 a.m. Dec. 19. An ATM ma­chine, which was in­side the busi­ness, was bro­ken into and a quan­tity of money taken.

Po­lice are also seek­ing the pub­lic’s as­sis­tance in lo­cat­ing a driver of a ve­hi­cle in­volved in a mo­tor ve­hi­cle col­li­sion, oc­cur­ring in Grand Bank.

The driver of a ve­hi­cle struck a parked car on Riff ’’s Store park­ing Dec. 7. The driver then spoke to the owner of the ve­hi­cle, which was struck, but did not pro­vide any of her de­tails.

The ve­hi­cle is de­scribed as a red, 4-door car with a yel­low ‘Sup­port our Troops’ bumper sticker. The fe­male driver is de­scribed as be­ing ap­prox­i­mately 65 years old with red hair.

RCMP are seek­ing the pub­lic’s as­sis­tance in iden­ti­fy­ing the per­son or per­sons in­volved in these crimes.
