Canada Summer Games NL mis­sion staff

Tourism, Cul­ture and Re­cre­ation Min­is­ter Der­rick Dal­ley an­nounced in the Leg­is­la­ture Wed­nes­day Team New­found­land and Labrador’s mis­sion staff for the 2013 Canada Summer Games in Sher­brooke, Que­bec.

The 17-mem­ber team will be lead by Chef de Mis­sion Michelle Healey of St. John’s and As­sis­tant Chefs de Mis­sion Rod Snow of Mount Pearl and Karen Sher­riffs of St. John’s.

This is the sec­ond time Ms. Healey and Mr. Snow will take on th­ese roles, hav­ing also served in the 2011 Canada Win­ter Games.

Ms. Healey is cur­rently Direc­tor of Ath­let­ics with Memo­rial Univer­sity and Mr. Snow is Man­ager and High Per­for­mance Direc­tor with the New­found­land and Labrador Sport Cen­tre. Ms. Sher­riffs is a Com­mu­nity Pro­gram Su­per­vi­sor with the City of St. John’s.

Other mem­bers join­ing them are Gary Martin of Mount Pearl, Al­li­son Sturge of St. John’s, Peter Butt of Twill­ingate, Gre­gory Pittman of Clarenvill­e, Robert Gould­ing of Grand Falls-Wind­sor, Jamie Jew­ers of Clarenvill­e, Doug Red­mond of St. John’s, David Kennedy of Car­bon­ear, Michelle Car­roll of St. John’s, Dave Feener of St. John’s, Laura Cole of Outer Cove, Colin Car­roll of Happy Val­ley-Goose Bay, Janet Facey of Tilt­ing and An­gela King of Fla­trock.

The mis­sion staff team will pro­vide lo­gis­ti­cal sup­port and as­sis­tance to over 350 provin­cial ath­letes on their quest to reach the podium at the coun­try’s most pres­ti­gious sports com­pe­ti­tion.
