Fisheries high school grad scholarship
The Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture is now accepting applications for its annual high school scholarship.
This scholarship offers $1,000 to a graduating high school student in Newfoundland and Labrador. This student must be entering post-secondary studies and best demonstrate knowledge of the province’s fishing or aquaculture industries.
Students must submit a 2,500-word essay to enter. As well, academic standing and extracurricular activities will be examined.
Provincial high school students, who graduate in June 2012 and are pursuing post-secondary studies in the 2012-13 academic year, are welcome to apply for this scholarship.
Each applicant should outline their community and extracurricular activities in the completed application and include a letter of reference, along with their essay submission.
