Almost a nine cent drop for gas
The Public Utilities Board lopped another 4.4 cents a litre off the price of gasoline last week, after dropped the price 4.3 cpl a week earlier.
The almost nine cent trim meant Burin Peninsula motorists are driving away from the gas pumps after paying $1.341 cpl for regular, self serve gasoline. Full service rate is $1.371 while diesel, which saw a 2.6 cent drop, is $1.401.
The PUB set maximum prices Thursday for all regulated petroleum products in all areas of the province.
Furnace and stove oils saw a decline of $1.49 a litre. Peninsula customers now pay $1.0654 a litre for furnace oil and $1.1136 for stove oil.
While other fuels went down, the price of propane heating fuel went up 1.4 cpl to 82.6.
The next scheduled price change is Thursday.
