Ar­rests made in Grand Bank theft

Burin Penin­sula RCMP has ar­rested three adults in Grand Bank in con­nec­tion with break-in and theft in the town Wed­nes­day night/Thurs­day morn­ing.

A 29-year-old male has been re­manded into cus­tody un­til tomorrow, Feb. 12, for a bail hear­ing.

Also a 30-year-old fe­male and a 20-year-old male have been re­leased from cus­tody.

All three were ar­rested early Fri­day morn­ing af­ter the po­lice ex­e­cuted a search war­rant at a res­i­dence in Grand Bank and re­cov­ered some of the stolen liquor and cig­a­rettes. The three were ar­rested in the res­i­dence.

Charges in­clude breach of re­lease con­di­tions, pos­ses­sion of stolen prop­erty and ut­ter­ing threats.

The RCMP, Grand Bank de­tach­ment, re­sponded to a com­plaint of a break and en­ter at a busi­ness in Grand Bank, Bur­fitt’s Elec­tro-Tec on Main Street, where a large quan­tity of liquor and cig­a­rettes were stolen.

The in­ves­ti­ga­tion is con­tin­u­ing and fur­ther charges are pos­si­ble.
